After the release of the Sony Xperia Z5, fans could not help but wonder what its successor could offer the public.
Expected to be revealed in March 2016, the Xperia Z6 will reportedly come with high-end features detailed below.
4K resolution
Android Standard said that the Z6 could come with a 5.5-inch IPS Triluminos display with 4K Resolution. It added that it will be protected by Corning Gorilla Glass 4.
Better processor
The upcoming Xperia instalment is also believed to be powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 820 chipset.
According to Qualcomm, this chipset is "the most powerful mobile processor we've ever made."
"Qualcomm Technologies is proud to announce that the Snapdragon 820 will feature breakthrough LTE and Wi-Fi technologies, made possible by an integrated, and newly upgraded, X12 LTE modem," added the company.
Powerful camera
As for the camera, Android Standard said it the Z6 may come with a 30 MP main camera with LED flash and an 8 MP front shooter.
"It may also feature 4K video recording at 60fps. Sony may use IMX2xx sensor in Xperia Z6 to reduce noise and increase color quality. Optical Image Optimization and HDR are some features of rear camera of Xperia Z6," added the same report.
Bigger battery
It is believed that the Z6 will come with a "non-removable 4000 mAh Li-Po battery" for faster charging and more efficient mobile experience.
Other features
Once available next year, Android Standard said it will have the Android M operating system, a fingerprint sensor, front-facing speakers and a USB Type-C port.
As for its price, the handset is believed to start selling at $700.
Earlier this month, Sony revealed the Sony Xperia Z5 Premium which is said to be the first smartphone with the 4K ultra high-definition display, along with two other Z5 phones.
Engadget said the company launched "a trio of flagship phones" -- Z5 Premium, Z5 and the Z5 Compact during the IFA 2015 in Berlin, Germany.
"The trio shares many attributes, but thanks to one spec, the Premium is by far the most interesting," added the same report.
With an 806-ppi display, the Z5 Premium is sure to be a sought-after phone for Sony fans though the Z5 will reportedly come with a 5.2-inch 1080p display and the Z5 Compact having a 4.6-inch 720p display.
Meanwhile, CNET said that all the released Z5 phones are equipped with a 23-megapixel camera, waterproof body and fingerprint scanner.
As for its other specifications, Engadget said that the all three phones share almost the same features. They are reportedly powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 810 processor, up to 32GB internal storage and a battery which can last for two days.
But the battery capacity also differ per phone as the Premium will have a 3,430mAh battery, the Z5 with a 2,900mAh and the Z5 Compact a 2,700mAh.
